Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - February 13, 2007 – Ubitech has announced that it has entered into a contract with DECEA Brazil for the supply of an integrated AIS system that will provide the customer with powerful tools to utilize both dynamic and static AIS data within an enterprise GIS environment. Ubitech will soon begin the implementation of the project in coordination with its partner EBCO Systems of Brazil.
The contract was awarded to Ubitech after DECEA Brazil's competitive tender process decided that Ubitech"s technical offering and extensive AIS and GIS expertise represented the most attractive offer. This is an extremely important win for Ubitech as it cements their position as the world leader in the provision of integrated AIS and GIS systems. Very few countries have yet to implement an AIS solution as complex as this, but Ubitech can boast similar projects currently underway for the Directorate of Civil Aviation in Botswana and Oro Navigajica in Lithuania.
Ubitech’s solution for Brazil provides a service-oriented architecture that provides efficient and responsive user interfaces and a high level of data accuracy stemming from validated spatial data storage. Advanced GIS and aeronautical charting and publication capabilities are provided by state-of-the-art desktop applications. This solution supports:
- AIXM-based Service to support acquisition of data in AIXM form
- Change Management workspace supporting entry of simple data elements as well as coordination of interrelated data elements
- Suite of automated checks through which data will successfully pass before entry into the system
- GIS-based Procedure Planning and 3D flyover simulation
- Temporal/Spatial Aeronautical Information database management
- Document and Chart assembly using ICAO AIP templates to produce draft; preview capability; final production of AIXM outputs
- ICAO Chart and document template management
- Custom output filters for AIS data
- Tools for taking the publications and charts from assembly, making final modifications e.g. adjusting label positions and creating final print-ready products
- Tools for managing spatial database, metadata management, workspace management and reporting
- Dissemination of AIP electronically and in print format
Ubitech’s solution is called Ubitech Spatia and is based on plug & play architecture which will allow the customer to plug in other components such as NOTAM & OPMET management, Weather displays, etc.
