Ottawa, Canada - May 31, 2005 – Ubitech Systems conducted a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of its InfoStore™ AIS database and SkySource™ AIP eManager both destined to be installed at Kuwait International Airport in June. Five representatives from DGCA Kuwait traveled to Ottawa to supervise the testing and gave their official approval to allow the project to move into the installation phase. This was the second successful FAT conducted by Ubitech in the month of May.
Having only signed the contract with DGCA Kuwait in early April, Ubitech has had to ramp up quickly on this project to meet the demanding schedule. Ubitech President Ramesh Misra credits project management expertise and product maturity with allowing Ubitech to deliver so quickly. He says,
"Ubitech has built a wealth of experience in managing successful projects in the face of tight time constraints. The experiences of the past twenty years have taught us how to keep a project on schedule and develop products that are mature, even in the first release."
This ambitious project represents a major upgrade in capabilities for DGCA Kuwait. The InfoStore™ AIS System centralizes the management of AIS data (NOTAM, OPMET, and Flight Plan), disseminates the data through automation, and requires little or no local database management resources. SkySource™ is a document management system designed specifically for the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP). It allows the user to create working sets of documents and charts, create amendments, supplements, and AICs all according to ICAO workflow standards. Both InfoStore™ and SkySource™ provide support for information delivery over the internet.
Ubitech has been highly active in Kuwait, having already installed the latest version of its Ubimex-a™ AFTN system in early 2004. That upgrade will ensure a seamless transition to ATN operations once the network is in place. Now with the addition of InfoStore™ and SkySource™, DGCA Kuwait will have one of the most advanced systems worldwide.
