Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of Congo - June 21, 2005 – Ubitech Systems is proud to announce a successful Site Acceptance Test (SAT) for its installation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is the third successful acceptance test for Ubitech Systems in Q2 having already conducted two Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for Colombia and Kuwait in April.
This project is part of a major aeronautical infrastructure modernization program being carried out by The Aeronav Group of Canada. Ubitech was chosen to provide Congo with ATS messaging capabilities and installed their Ubimex-a™ AFTN and InfoStore™ AIS systems. These systems represent a major upgrade in capabilities for Congo since prior to this install no automated solution for AFTN or AIS had been in operation in the country.
The project in Congo presented a number of challenges that greatly increased the difficulty of the installation phase. The domestic communications infrastructure was being upgraded simultaneously to the AFTN and AIS systems, further complicated by the large distances between the multiple installation sites. Nevertheless, Ubitech's technicians were successful in getting the system totally operational and conducted the SAT under the supervision of the Aeronav who gave their approval to the test results.
