Reporting to the Manager of Systems & Services, the Systems Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze system requirements
- Create test plans and test procedures
- Perform software testing
- Participate in system integration
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Travel to site for system installation and implementation
- Perform Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Provide training to client, both in]house and on]site
- Provide Customer support (phone/e-mail)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good understanding of Operating Systems (OS) and OS behaviour and performance. Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux
- Possess a strong knowledge of various network concepts and architectures
- Knowledge of Database concepts
- Good understanding of networking
- Ability to participate in the writing of technical documents (functional specifications, design documents, etc.) considered an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with resourceful problem solving abilities
- Proven skills in providing effective client/user training
- Self]motivated to work independently with strong tendencies to be a dynamic team player
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Positive attitude, results oriented, highly motivated and reliable
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively as required by the phases of the project for extended periods of time
- Valid Canadian Passport
Additional Assets
- Knowledge of the Aviation messaging formats
- Additional Languages (written/spoken)
- Database Knowledge such as Oracle, Postgres
- Familiar with Shell Scripting
